Hvaler - Jump from island to island
There are few places that has as much to offer as Hvaler, with its shining waters and picturesque archipelago, large enough for anyone to find their own undisturbed spot.
Tourists and happy islanders give Hvaler that unique laid back atmosphere with some of the most beautiful surroundings in the country. Here there are endless possibilities for outings, places to swim, the forest, your own fishing spot or just to enjoy the view. If you have a boat you have even more possibilities of exploring the islands or just mooring at anchor out at sea on a warm summer day. Even without a boat you can experience many of the islands with the ferries, go island hopping all year round, and maybe bring a tent for an unforgettable experience with the family.
Hvaler lets you stay close to nature, while at the same time being not too far from all the necessary facilities, like shopping, restaurants, transport, golf, and city life. The Hvaler archipelago consists of over 800 beautiful islands offering a vast and lively animal life and fauna and is one of the places in Norway with most sun all year through. With the sound of the soft waves, a boat passing by, the sound of happy children fishing for crabs or swimming, this is an environment that provides peace at heart.
The rest of the year is almost even more beautiful in this archipelago. Silence all around whether you sit at the tip of a skerry with a fishing rod, go for a walk in the forest or gather the family around the bond fire. The variety is infinite, from exciting tunnels in old military buildings, large art installations by the open sea, untouched nature, natural formations and lovely little shops and cafes.
